Description
To understand Machimosaurus and it's ecosystem completely I searched for his possible prey.
Within the last days I produced this list of turtles from the late jurassic of Germany, I even bought a (very technical) book about fossil turtles to complete and better understand this animals.
Prehistoric turtels are rarely a topic of paleoart but there are some very interesting species, even if they are not giant protostegids.
scale: 20 cm
Update: now with an Machimosaurus in the background, the giant ammonite Titanites (which is not the biggest ammonite) from England, a large Lyctoptera (a species from New Zealand had even a diameter of 1,3 m) and the small turtle Eurysternum.

Did any of these turtles have flippers like modern sea turtles?
