Sandnuggets

Sandswimmers are rare on Earth, and scattered all over the world, in the sand seas of Nea they all come together and adapt to this new environment.
sandswimming cockroaches are such unusual animals. The nymphs and females of the genus Arenivaga are known for this ability while the males have still wings and can fly and have a short life. To mate the females come to the surface and use pheromones which attract the males.

The various Arenivaga species of Nea are near the base of this hyperarid ecosystem and are a important source of nutrients for small carnivores like the sandguppys.

They are also on a regular basis part of the menu card of Neaneans which live in these harsh deserts, and even in the capital city you can get fried sandnuggets at any corner.
