A bit Temeraire Fanart

While working on some pictures which are way to big for the scanner, I want to show you two small sketches I did yesterday just for fun.
I already submited in the past a few speculative drawings for the Temeraire universe (giant air ships to trnasport small dragons, a Bundeswehr dragon from the present...) but this time I take a look on the origins of the european dragon races.
On the one hand you see here a big dragon of the roman empire and below this majestetic creature a wild, half domestic monster of the Picts. The roman dragon have some similarities to the Kazalik; that's no accident. My theory is that the arabian world not only preseves the knowledge of the roman empire but also took some of their dragon races. The dragon of the Picts is much smaller but has already some features of is descendant, the british Longwing.
