Description
Here something I produced for the small Europasaurus commission.
Here I included another Theropod to the size chart, a hypothetical dwarfed megalosaurid which is known from teeth.
To quote the new paper: "Theropod teeth from bed 83 might be attributable to members of the Megalosauridae, Allosauroidea, Tyrannosauroidea, and Dromaeosauridae (Oliver Gerke, personal commun., 2014; Gerke and Wings, 2014). The largest theropod tooth, probably belonging to the Megalosauridae, measures 24 mm in crown high; the length of this theropod can be roughly estimated at around 4 m (Oliver Gerke, personal commun., 2014)."
Of course we don't know if this was a adult or juvenile, a species with especially small teeth etc. but I like the idea of a possible europsaurus-hunting theropod which had the right size to decimate the sauropod population not too much.
Unfortunately the already written text for the press didn't stated these fossils so the journalists would have been irritated, and in the end we used the smaller file
