Suchomimus by Hyrotrioskjan Suchomimus by Hyrotrioskjan
Here the old Suchomimus: [link] (one of the ugliest spinosaurs I had ever drawn)

Edit: the birds are not a particular genus, enantiornithes like Shaneiniao were inspirations.

Horrible creatures... glad the dinos wall went extinct and smaller, less freaky looking animals populated the Earth

I know, Suchomimus have a smaller sail but it looks a bit bigger here because of the perspective.

Since it is portrayed as a hump here, I think it is perfectly reasonable to assume that there is a lot of soft tissue covering it, so I think its size is plausible no matter what.

But I think your style is very similar to Tna Aumala's style , who made the Balundaur(long necked ceratopsian) and african titanosaurs in The Speculative Dinosaur Project

The more we uncover about Spinosaurs, the more I see the as giant heron/bear/crocodile beasts. But the way you depict them shows that they were still a bunch of BAMFs! Awesome job!

Great job. I think the main problem is in the eye placement and weird head perspective, but otherwise is cool. :)

Do you suppose that some spinosaurids were more saltwater-oriented than others (as in living crocodiles)?

I think that they linving on the land (Siamosaurus could be a exeption) in swampy habits, near rivers. But I could imagine that smaller species lived near the sea and feed birds, pterosaurs and dead fish.
Irritator, for example, lived beside a brackwater lagoon.

Why would Siamosaurus be an exception:?

The oxygen-isotope-analyse of the teeth showed that the animal lived a big part of it's life in water.

Actually it's nearer to Baryonyx than Spinosaurus (Baryonyx and Suchomimus are sister taxons)
