Finally I'm back, from Denmark, and I carry a bunch of ideas and drawings with me.
During the last time many people have ask "what about the Spinosaurus?", very good question. What happend to this giant heron? There was a concept, a sketch I publush here.
The answer is typical for my way to work.
Pyrungata overrun me. The motivation for the Spinosaurus decrease and the delusion for my newest project began.
But here he is, a bit different to the original concept, but not less gigantic and with the new thick-sail/muscular hump.
Now you will see them all together on the new Spinosauridae size chart.

It looks awesome, but I still think that it was probably more mottled in coloration, to better blend in with the foliage or riverside vegetation or whatever. But it is still very impressive!

AFAIK Spinosaurus spines are very different from those of sailed animals ^^ They looked more like the ones of a bison or chameleon.

the hump is a reasonable guess but the spines in the spinosaurus would be too weak to hold all that fat and muscle. it was more likely a thick display fin which is not uncommon in dinos. most of the weight would be in the legs and torso so the legs would be longer an slighty more muscular. still a great picture though.

This theme is still controversial and that's the reason why I don't show here the thicknes of the hump/sail =)

P.S.: hat der Spinosaurus eigentlich auch einen Schwanz?
