Limatops by Hyrotrioskjan Limatops by Hyrotrioskjan
"Where are the dragons of north america?", was the question of an commentator on my Convuciosaurus. And he was right. Where are the dragons of the great plains, the Rocky mountains or the Redwood forest?
Here is one of them =)
Limatops is a small sized predator but very deadly. It's hunt all whats smaller than a human (and sometimes humans are on the menu too)
The poison of this species is one of the strongest in the group of dragons. It's paralyse and burn, also with the antidote, for days and without the antidote your survival chances are nearly 0%.
The animals live in canyons and build their nests in niches in the rock. Often thes expand the niches to small caves with their armored snouts (the wird Lima means file) or stones with which they strike at the rock. Limatops is the only dragon which use tools. They live in monogamous pairs and often use the nest for many years.

Yes, a extinct subspecies was the inspiration for the Piasa.

Eurovenator and Cofuciosaurus are bigger =)
But you are right, most of my dragons are smaller than the normal Fantasy creature. But this is not Fantasy, it's pseudo-scientific. 3 reasons why they are small:
1. In the middle ages we have Dragonslayer in europe, I don't think that one man can kill a angry lizard with the size of an elephant.
2. Humans tend to exaggerate.
3. Why nobody knows about this creatures. Big animals have problems to be hidden.

Also, most dragons in medieval legends were quite small, so Hyrotrioskjan's dragons are actually quite accurate size-wise.

You should make a giant dragon without wings that is so large it is mistaken for canyons that live in north america

I will make flightless dragons, but I don't know if north america is the right place for it. I thought about New Zealand and island in the pazific.
