Eurovenator by Hyrotrioskjan Eurovenator by Hyrotrioskjan
Before the middleages, this dragons were widespread across europe.
But between the 7th and 14th century a clan of dragonlayer (the holy Georg was one) decimate 92% of the population. After this the dragons change in the mind of humans.
Paolo Uccelo was one of the last that remember how dragons realy looks like.

He lived near a nest of the italian subspecies Eurovenator anglicus magnificus, known for their wonderful wings.
Today we have 240-250 specimens with 8 on the british islands (because of the many humans it's hard to bring them back)
with 6m in length it's longer than Uxuldraco but it's a worse flyer.

two questions

1. Is 250 specimens Endangered or critically Endangered?

2. What conservation measures are being used to boost the population on the British isles?

Also, I had an idea. Perhaps with your dragons the venom in highly flammable which would make some people in Medieval times think the dragons are breathing fire.

I thought about that but figured out that it would not make much sense because they would get a burned inner mouth. In addition you must know that dragon venom is similar to rattle snake venom and I never heard about a flammable substance in snake venom =)

Love this dragon series! My favorites are this one, Limatops, and Allopolestes! Are you going to continue with the series or is it finished?

I think I've come up with a common name for these: the mountain dragon.

I come up with "Common eurasian Wyvern", mountain dragon was already a name for a dragon species in "Dragons world" =)

That's where I got it from. Is the name "mountain dragon" trademarked by Animal Planet or something?

it's not trademarked but I don't feel good by using the same names. In addition I want to be seperated from this show because I disagree with some of their theories =)

I want to go with a name that captures its ferocious temper and its natural habitat. How about "European deathwing"?

I actually think calling it the Common Eurasian Wyvern is good.

Would they like living in Scandinavia? There are plenty of forests, mountains, and access to the sea. That are not a whole lot of people.

It would be indeed perfect, but the winter is a bit too harsh for them, Scandinavia is the home of the Cryopteridae.

The Piasa was inspired by an, now extinct, subspecies of Limatops.

Why none in Scotland? Surely the highlands would be a perfect hiding place.

Young individuals need forests to hunt.
But a few adult eurovenators travel every year to the highlands to hunt birds at the coast.

This answers my last question, is this the only dragon that lives in Europe, or will there be others? I dont mean to squeeze the talent out of you, I just really love your work.

There will be others. The northern states are populated by a special group that can survive the cold winter.
