Confuciosaurus by Hyrotrioskjan Confuciosaurus by Hyrotrioskjan
Just 127 specimens of this wonderful breed in the live in remote areas. Different to the european dragons they have a preference for fish, like heron they often wait at the shore and wait for prey.
This more harmless diet is a reason for the peaceful coexistence of dragons and humans in China. Some of them were nearly tame and get fish and birds every day. But the life near the world of humans make them weak. Many dragon that go back into the wild die.

No, there is no known dragon, extinct or extant which would be able to carry a human on it's back.

Oh, it's good to see someone like you. I'm currently working on the concept for realistic/possible evolutionary scenarios for mythical humanoids (dwarves, gnomes, Hobbits, etc)

I meant impossible with the bauplan I have here, and yes I know that doc, I have actually the DVD =) but even if it's the most realistic dragon documentation so far there are still many things which don't make sense, and fighting against  T. rex is just one point on my list.

We've argued a lot and even making several explanation through the internet when I had met someone discussing about a kind of dragon which soar above China. It never cease my nerve when I did some research for both artwork development and the world setting based on the reality. I've try to make things simple, or just to tell them they should have just believe what fantasy the people want to listen, sadly in my place they never open up the mind like deviants.

Back to topic, I'm pretty sure that such of winged serpentine could be historically exist, to be precise. However, one of a book I've found has mention that why the Chinese Dragon are both harder to track year by year. I couldn't entirely agree the reason you've said before, pollution, but after I've read this book it seems the reason is really... uhm... relative. Except the pollution the book wrote is the water. You know, serpentine dragon are heavily water-characteristics, and yet the water-pollution just make them getting their existence harder to be found and believe. (Happened when getting the revolution in 1970s, it's getting better since 21 century, yet not too dramatic)

I believe that the pollution is just way to put animal life to extreme, however it wouldn't be too sensitive to endanger the draconic life only. The thing that affecting them more directly is the dragon slayers (China do exist several historical dragon slayers, except they're encountering the thing that looks evil. Not by kidnapping riches, more like destroying civil places with the magic of nature). For now that such of "dragon slayers" are pretty decent thanks by the post-imperial state (out of environmental rule during this time, hunting is a major activity happens until modernization).

If I were you, I would take a major consideration to put the design you did into real event carefully. I can still believe that thing to be honest, but I still feel frustrated to understand it better without solid references. Oh uhm... nice design anyway.

I figured. It's more realistic this way, as well.
Though possibly there is another creature in Asia, more comparable to the typical "Chinese Dragon" ^__^

Yes, the chinese alligator or the komodo dragon. The storys of these and the Convuciosaurus could merge together and create the classic asian dragon...
